Switzerland County School Corporation will operate on synchronous E-learning on Friday, February 6, 2026, due to icy road conditions in portions of the county and additional snow forecasted for dismissal time. Students should follow the E-learning class schedule beginning at 9:00 a.m.

All students are evacuated and safe. There was a bus fire while parked at Switzerland County Elementary. All students and bus driver safely evacuated from the bus. Emergency services are on-site. Switzerland County Elementary ONLY will be closed today - Thursday, December 8, 2026. Due to the proximity of the bus to the school, we will need the day for inspections and clean up. The fire was contained to the bus only and not the school. All SCES students on a bus will be transported home on a bus. If you need an alternative drop off, please call transportation at (812) 427-2611. We apologize for inconvenience.
School will be closed for Switzerland County Elementary School due to a water main break Friday, December 19th, 2025.
Switzerland County School Corporation will operate on a synchronous E-learning day Monday December 15th. Students grades 3-12 should follow the synchronous E-learning schedule practiced earlier this fall by logging into Google Classroom with their teachers beginning at 9 a.m.
