The sixth graders spent a week using the engineering design process to build contraptions that would protect their eggs during the egg drop challenge. The eggs were dropped from two heights, a 6 foot ladder and the top of the school building. They were all successful as not a single egg was broken.

Living in Literacy Community Partnership Spotlight: Community Foundation of Switzerland County Inc.
What do they do?
The Community Foundation of Switzerland County Inc. launched the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Switzerland County in 2006. The program provides specially-selected, age-appropriate books to registered Switzerland County children at home each month from birth to age five. Best of all, the program is free to the enrolled children and their families.

Living in Literacy Day Community Partnership Spotlight: New Hope Pregancy Center
What do they do?
New Hope Pregnancy Center offers support and hope for women facing unplanned pregnancy. We offer free and confidential pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and parenting education. We also offer free monthly closet visits to help with diapers, wipes, clothing, and other baby items.
They will be set up at the event to help mothers get the support and resources they may need for themselves or their infant!
