“Business Professionals of America (BPA) is the leading CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields. The Workplace Skills Assessment Program (WSAP) prepares students to succeed and assesses real-world business skills and problem solving abilities in finance, management, IT and computer applications. It is BPA’s showcase program and facilitates students demonstrating their career skills at regional, state and national conferences in competitive events.” (BPA website)
The Switzerland County Middle School chapter had a successful State conference on Sunday, March 6th. Eight students participated in events and ALL students came away from the conference earning medals/plaques for placing in the top ten. The three students who advanced, did so by placing high enough in their respective events to to earn their spot at the National Competition.

Isabella Robinson- 1st in Financial Literacy
Emma Sullivan- 4th in Keyboarding Production
Trey Gray- 6th in Prepared Speech
The following students also placed in competitive and open events
Aliyah Begley- 9th in Keyboarding Production, 10th in Business Communications
Emma Sullivan- 5th in Extemporaneous Speaking
Kelsy McAlister- 9th in Business Communications, 6th in Business Fundamentals and 5th in Business Math Concepts
Lane Penick- 2nd in Business Communications
Isabella Robinson- 8th in Business Communications
Dallas Snider- 8th in Business Fundamentals
Logan Bennett- 9th in Business Fundamentals
Michael Stanton- 6th in Financial Literacy
The BPA National Competition will be held in Boston, Massachusetts from May 5th – May 9th.
