Information About the Summer Meal Program and School Lunch Program

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The USDA has announced the nationwide extension of several waivers allowing all children to continue to receive nutritious meals this summer when schools are out of session. We will be offering a summer meal program at the high school and Switzerland County Elementary School.

*High School breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and lunch will be served 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day.

*SCES breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day.

In addition to the summer meal program, the waiver extends the national free breakfast and lunch program to all students K-12 for the 2021-2022 school year.

We want to remind parents, when you register your child for school next year it is still very important you complete the meal and textbook assistance form if you feel your child qualifies. This program does not automatically apply to textbooks. Once you complete the assistance form, your textbook bill is paid by the state, only class fees will apply to your bill. This form can be submitted during registration. We will have an online option as well as open hours to help parents complete the assistance form if necessary.

If you have meal questions, please contact the cafeteria director, Gayla Bullock at 812-427-3343

If you have textbook questions, please contact Stephanie Riley at 812-427-3646

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr. Rod Hite, Superintendent

Switzerland County School Corporation
