Parents and Guardians,
We want to thank you for all of your efforts this year in making 2021-2022 a successful year to this point. As you know, the Center for Disease Control and the Indiana State Department of Health have recently updated the guidance for those individuals testing positive and those considered a close contact. Please see the updated guidance below.
If you test positive for COVID-19:
Everyone, regardless of vaccination status:
- Stay home for 5 days.
- If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving after 5 days, you may return to school.
- Continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additional days.
- If you have a fever, continue to stay home until your fever resolves. You may return after 24 hours fever free without the use of medication.
If you were exposed to someone with COVID-19:
If you:
- Have been boosted OR completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months OR completed the primary series of J&J vaccine within the last 2 months
- Wear a mask around others for 10 days.
- Test on day 5, if possible.
- If you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home.
If you:
- Are unvaccinated OR not boosted after completing the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine over 6 months ago OR completed the primary series of J&J over 2 months ago and are not boosted
- Stay home for 5 days from last contact, return on day 6 and wear a mask around others for 5 additional days.
- Test on day 5 if possible.
- If you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home.
We greatly appreciate your support over the past two school years. It is only with your support we have been successful. One way you can continue to support these efforts is by staying home if you are not feeling well or develop symptoms.
Thank you,
Mr. Rod Hite, Superintendent
Switzerland County School Corporation
