Coach David Todd Reflects on The Boys Soccer Teams Historic Season

“This was most definitely a historic season in Switzerland County Boys’ Soccer as the Pacers ended the regular season as the only team in the state of Indiana (in all classes, boys or girls) to not lose or tie a game. The boys were also first time sectional Champions and first time conference Champions. They finished the season as the #5 ranked team in the state. They set a school record by allowing only 10 goals in the entire season and also set a school record with 96 goals scored. The Pacers had an individual who was 8th in the state in goals scored and another who was 10th in the state in assists. When it was evident that this team had a legitimate shot to go undefeated and to win the conference and the sectional the boys did feel some pressure.  The pressure they felt came from their own expectations and that is the best kind of pressure. The boys did not run from it but embraced it. With all of that being said, this season transcended just winning… The memories will be filled with thoughts of bus ride conversations, fun at practice, and life lessons for all… we are so proud of these boys and appreciative of the support that they got from home and the community… This team will be mentioned with the greatest teams to have played in Switzerland County in any sport…Truly a season that will never be forgotten… Forever thankful for this team, the coaches, the parents, the fans, and the community support…a foundation for success has been laid and the future is bright…Go Pacers!”
