April 6th Update on COVID-19 Guidelines

April 5th, 2021

Parents and Guardians,

We want to thank you for all of your efforts this year in making 2020-2021 a successful year to this point. Being
able to stay in session five days a week with all students has not always been easy but it’s through your
cooperation and the hard work of the faculty and staff that has allowed us to be successful. As you know,
Governor Holcomb will lift the required mask mandate for the State of Indiana tomorrow, April 6th. Please
note the Governor’s order does not allow schools to change any of our current procedures.

Students will continue to be required to wear their mask, We will continue to use our same safety protocols
and we will continue to communicate with parents if your child has been exposed for more than 15 minutes to
someone who has tested positive.

We are also beginning our spring sports season. With outdoor sports, we will have six foot boxes for family
groups marked in the bleachers. Family groups may also use lawn seating to space themselves out along the
fence, but please keep six feet apart while sitting in family groups. The school guidelines still apply for all
school activities and we do want to remind parents and spectators a mask will be required to be worn at school
sponsored activities. Our capacity limit and number of spectators will be determined by the State of Indiana’s
color coded map released each Wednesday. The Athletic Directors will have information on any week there
must be changes to our current capacity or spectator rules. Currently, spectators outside of family members can
attend games unless our county numbers change.

Again, thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and we look forward to seeing you at our spring sporting
events.

Thank you,

Mr. Rod Hite, Superintendent
Switzerland County School Corporation
