From Courtney Dayadharum:
“My first ever soccer gig was coaching my nieces lollipop soccer team in our Switzerland County Soccer league. I’ve been currently active in coaching for the league as I coach both of my boys soccer teams every season. I will be on the third season of taking two boys indoor soccer teams to play over the winter months in Ohio. Before becoming the High School girls varsity coach, I coached the Middle school coed program from 2011 to 2019. I’m in my second year of coaching girls varsity soccer.
Soccer has always been a family sport, I remember the years my mom coached my siblings and I. it’s always been a family affair, this year as we just finished our SAY seasons I was able to coach my boys, nieces, nephews and a lot of kiddos that also feel like family to me.
I love and enjoy being on the pitch with young athletes that love and have passion for the game of soccer. Soccer isn’t for the weak, it can be very complicated to pick up as it is very tactical, but so rewarding.
What I hope to instill into my athletes:
To be Gracious; Respectful; Teamwork; Selflessness; Work Ethic; Communication; and whether in soccer or in life to always perform like someone is watching you, always make the right decisions.
Favorite Memory:
Over all the years of coaching soccer I have a lot of great memories from each year, I could choose more than a few. I will stick with the most recent events that will become great memories. My Girls team made history this year by being the first ever soccer team to win Sectionals. My sisters and I played on the first ever high school Pacers soccer team (coed), my senior year we had our first ever all girls soccer sectional and 20 year later I got to be part of the first ever soccer sectional in Switzerland County. The picture of the fans and the excitement and happiness on the faces of all the players that I coached will be one I will never forget.
The Atmosphere that surrounds Pacer soccer is unmatchable, it’s within all levels of our programs. We have a lot to be proud of, and there is a list of people to give thanks to. The boys Varsity team had a great season this year earning the most wins a boys soccer team has ever won. Well done to David Todd and his coaching staff on a great season. Our SAY leagues just wrapped up the season with 6 out of the 7 championships. We have come a long way here in Switz, it feels good to be a part of it all with my family and friends. “
From Meganmarie Dennis:
“I coached high school cross country for 5 years and Girls on the Run for 7 years at South Ripley before I stayed home with my children. I came back to coaching cross country at Switzerland County in 2019 and have coached for 3 years. I also coached HS track at Switz for 2 years.
I started running in 7th grade track and 8th grade cross country and continued racing cross country and track throughout college. After college I completed multiple half Marathons and 2 full marathons.
I find running to be very therapeutic and beneficial to my health. I really enjoy running with other people and helping cross country runners to meet their goals. I have met some of my best friends and my husband b/c we were on the same cross country and track teams. I hope to help others find their happy place through running.”
