The Switzerland County Competitive Cheer Squad placed 4th at the Indiana State Cheer Championship last week. They had previously competed at the State Preliminary Competition and earned a 6th place finish which advanced them to the finals. The SC Cheer coaches, Sydney Sefton, Casie Jesop and Andrea Brogan Ogden, started taking the team to the state level four years ago. This is the second time the team has advanced and the FIRST time they have placed. The goal this year was to be in the top five in the state and they were able to make it one place beyond that goal. The team has made substantial improvements since the Swiss Wine Festival Competition. The coaches and staff are beyond proud of their hard work and determination.
The coaches want to thank everyone who made the two hour drive to support the team, as well as those who were cheering them on from home. They also want to give a big shout out to the Police Department for escorting the team through town!
